BUSINESS ANALYST - Job Description

Description: This position generally requires 3-5 years of Business Analysis experience in an Information Technology environment. Experience in Business Intelligence, Business Logic, Problem Solving and Analytical thinking queries. Exposure to Rational Unified Process. Object Oriented design, and Fourth Generation Languages (4GL),

The position requires work with a team and individually; and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Tasks include:

Work with business units and technical teams to elicit, analyze, document and manage requirements for new solutions and enhancements to existing systems.
Participates in the development of business cases and proposals, including identification of alternatives and cost/benefit.
Develops and documents conceptual (and logical0 models for the purpose of supporting the development of business requirements)
Process design/redesign and implementation support, including process and workflow Modeling
Develop and monitor project, risk management, implementation, test, deployment, training, operational and contingency plans as required
Prepare project status reports
Providing Business support and guidance to project teams
Works closely with technical team members to ensure all requirements have been accurately addressed as well as supports the technical group during design and development activities
Supports system testing related to both QA and end user testing activities
Organizes and participates in user training sessions for project work
Completes or assists in completing 3rd Party software evaluations
Manage deadlines and deliverables to meet client and project management expectations
Work concurrently on a variety of projects and clients
Work with clients and project teams to set, manage and achieve priorities.
Stay current on new development technologies and methodologies
Enforcing security and other organizational and operational standards
Preparing and managing project and support documentation and corporate project files
Maintain or achieve relevant certifications
Maintain strong interpersonal, communication & team collaboration skills
Follow industry best practices wherever possible
Implement and manage BI principles and tools as required
Follows corporate Document & Record retention guidelines

Maintain working knowledge of:

Case Tools, Rational Rose, ERWin, System Architect and/or Visio
BI Tools, incl. Cognos, Crystal Reports, Crystal Enterprise and/or SQL Reporting Services
Share Point Team Services, SharePoint and/or related portal technologies
MS SQL server, Oracle and/or DB2 RDBMS, MySQL
VS.NET platform
Network Operating and Desktop Operating Environments

Other duties

Assist in achieving and maintaining ISTCL’s corporate objectives as determined from time to time
Assist in ISTCL Product development and product launch
Assist in preparing ISTCL Submissions and estimates
Presenting proposals to clients
Assist in achieving and maintaining Microsoft Certified Partner Status and other such designation as may be determined corporately from time to time
Show leadership in your work at all times
Assist the development team in supporting all projects as required
Always close the feedback loop
