Services and Deliverables

  • Identify reporting requirements from the SACM program through targeted workshops, as required
  • Establish a reporting framework that meets the SACM program reporting requirements, identifying key timelines and milestones
  • Develop reports off the current ITSM Cognos reporting data mart and tools suite
  • Ready the Cognos reporting development environment, ensuring the current data mart and framework models will support the identified business requirements
  • Incorporate the following source data:
    • Configuration Management data, specifically the Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM) data mart and various SACM views and associated relationships, stored in the ITS Configuration Management Database
    • Incidence / Service Request data, to support process audit control of ITS assets
    • Problem data, from the EIT problem management module, not yet integrated into the Cognos reporting development environment (dependencies on JTS ETL activities), focusing on relationships to ITS configuration items, used for root cause analysis
    • Monitoring and inventory data, from yet to be finalized data source(s).
    • Other data sources not yet identified, following their integration into he ITSM data mart
  • Develop specific report types including, but not limited to:
    • Dependency Analysis: identify associated infrastructure and service structure CIs for the purpose of analyzing interdependent assets
    • Audit Validation: reports that validate asset accuracy and process effectiveness
    • Lifestyle: reports that track the end-to-end lifecycle of assets, ensuring procedural effectiveness for the control of ITS assets
    • Asset / Financial Analysis: financially-focused asset reporting views
    • Operational: Various operational views of infrastructure data, used for solution planning, development / build and day to day operations
  • Where possible, leverage report development to support future ITS ITSM reporting requirements, by establishing an applicable degree of generic labels.
